The Northern Territory’s rental, hiring, and real estate services industry is crucial for enabling access to housing an accommodation services for Territorians. It is also an important component of the Territory’s overall economic stability. The industry provides services in the rental and hiring, property operators, and real estate sub-sectors. Failure to provide these services would not only affect access to housing, but could undermine efforts to attract inter-state workers into other industries like arts and recreation, accommodation and food services, education and training, mining, and construction across the NT. Therefore, ensuring continuous access to affordable rental, hiring, and real estate services would mean designing purpose-driven strategies to attract and retain skilled workers whilst simultaneously improving the socioeconomic outcomes for Territorians.
