Updating skills for driving jobs

Are you someone who drives a vehicle for a living?

Or someone responsible for the skills development of drivers within your workforce?

Work is underway to review and improve technology, safety and professionalism skills for driving qualifications and align training standards with regulatory requirements.

The project will focus on improving the Certificate II, III and IV in Driving Operations and 87 related units of competency, designed for driving jobs such as:

  • Light Rigid Driver
  • Pickup and Delivery Driver
  • Taxi Driver
  • Tow Truck Driver
  • Bus Driver
  • Coach Driver
  • Line Haul Driver
  • Pickup and Delivery Driver
  • Pilot Vehicle Driver
  • Tip Truck Driver
  • Waste Vehicle Driver
  • Chemical Tanker Driver
  • Fuel Tanker Driver
  • LP Gas Tanker Driver
  • Bitumen Tanker

Driving experts are welcome to participate by providing feedback on the proposed changes to Australian Industry Standards (AIS) by Monday, 8 March 2021.
