Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Work Qualification Review

As Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Practitioners and Care Workers continue providing culturally safe health and wellbeing care across the Northern Territory (NT) in urban, rural, and remote settings, six qualifications supporting the sector are under review.

ISACNT would like to hear from experienced NT professionals about the skills and knowledge health care workers require to meet community clients' spiritual, cultural and family needs.

The review of qualifications is occurring in collaboration with Karrina DeMasi, Aboriginal Medical Services Alliance Northern Territory (AMSANT) and Iris Raye, Department of Health, Northern Territory (DoH).

The review includes:

  • Certificate II in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
  • Certificate III in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care

  • Diploma of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice
