Exploring the Future of Work!

Today at the Casuarina Senior College (CSC) Futures Festival the vibe was rocking!

Over 550 year 10 – 12 students engaged with Northern Territory industry experts linking school subjects to future pathways.

Industry Skills Advisory Council (ISACNT) talked with students about how technology will continue to enhance our ability to instantly connect with people around the globe to solve problems and increase collaboration.  Demonstrating this with the Microsoft HoloLens, Debbie Knight and Yuka Yoshimoto took students on a virtual tour of health, automotive and tourism sectors.

As technology begins to free up our time to respond to more complex problems, the core skills employers are looking for will include:

  • Communication (verbal, written and visual)
  • Critical & creative thinking
  • Teamwork
  • Digital competence and learning

Students made an instant connection with how these enterprise skills are transferable across industries and will effectively be highly desired by employers across the Northern Territory.

All the best to our year 12 Students who have had a real tough year in 2020.  Remember, we are in this together and there will always be someone to support you.

Industry Skills Advisory Council NT would like to thank the CSC Career Advice Centre, Top End P-TECH and The Exhibitionist for hosting the 2020 NT Futures Festival.
