Exciting Industry Development Emerging - Darwin Aviation Skills Centre

After extensive research into the Aviation sectors conducted by the Industry Skills Advisory Council (ISACNT), ISACNT then engaged and worked closely with Deloitte on a Feasibility Study.

Following the successful launch of the Deloitte ISACNT Aviation Academy Report at the Northern Territory (NT) Airport’s Wirraway lounge in September, the ISACNT hosted the Aviation Industry Working Group Formative Meeting on the 25 September 2020.

The purpose of this meeting was to garner expressions of interest from the industry wishing to become foundation members in creating the Darwin Aviation Skills Centre (DASC).

To date, interest from 14 potential industry stakeholders is a positive beginning to this rapidly emerging development.

The next steps are underway for the creation of suitable incorporation for the tenure of the DASC to be located at the Darwin Airport.

ISACNT would like to thank all stakeholders for their participation and contribution to the industry research, culminating in a conclusive understanding of the industry demand and workforce development requirements for the Aviation sectors in the NT.

An aviation skills centre in the NT will provide local, national and international workforce solutions across the Aviation industry. Skills training solutions to meet demand, together with the progression of the Darwin Aviation Skills Centre, will contribute significantly to the economic development of the Northern Territory.
