Automation evolution

Celebrating all things gaming, anime and geek culture.  The Palmerston community recently embraced Geekfest, which saw ‘Geeks’ and youth learning about new technologies and enjoying a range of ‘techy’ activities. These included laser tag, virtual reality and the ever-growing competitive world of eSports.

Amongst the fantastic cosplay and fun had by all we saw critical thinking skills being developed. These skills, within the world of technology, will potentially change the future workforce and are being embraced now and beyond into the 21st Century.

This industry is evolving as it is affected by automation and the demand for skills to support the industry is in strong demand. There are strong future prospects for programmers, software engineers, web developers, and information technology security consultants.

Geekfest Top End showcased how automation reduces routine and manual work, and jobs will become safer, more satisfying and more valuable.  At its core automation is an opportunity to harness the power of machines to improve human lives.

Industry Skills Advisory Council NT (ISACNT) thanks the hospitality of Princess Leia and Palmerston Youth and City of Palmerston for once again holding this fantastic event. In the words of Yoda, “Difficult to see. Always in motion is the future.”  To Geekfest Top End 2019, we look forward.
